Founded in the mid 50s, Playboy has grown from humble beginnings into one of the most iconic publications in the United States. Beginning as a lifestyle magazine the publication has fought pornography laws in a series of groundbreaking cases.
Of course, there are those who wish to see the magazine stopped. Many feminists argue that publications such as Playboy promote the idea of the female body as a commodity, something to be bought and sold by men.
Remaining a hugely influential brand, Playboy has announced plans for a new fashion range. Teaming up with MGMT and The Kooks the forthcoming collection 'Rock The Rabbit' will see the two bands join forces on a number of designs.
The Kooks are currently holed up in a secret location in London working on their third album. The follow up to 2008's hugely successful 'Konk' album, the band are set to return soon with yet more chirpy indie pop.
The Brighton based band have collaborated with MGMT on a range of new designs for Playboy. Featuring the familiar Playboy bunny image, 'Rock The Rabbit' also features designs by MGMT.
The Brooklyn duo recently confirmed that they are working on their second album, the follow up to breakthrough hit 'Oracular Spectacular'. Taking time out of recording sessions to work on the new fashion range.
